An exceptionally rare archival piece from John Galliano’s Fall/Winter 2005 collection for Dior, this triple-layered slip gown reflects the romantic complexity that defined many of his most iconic works. The design consists of three separate red slip dresses, each unique yet intended to be worn layered as one ethereal ensemble, a styling concept often lost over time, making complete sets like this exceedingly difficult to find.

The top layer is a mini slip in sheer chiffon cupro, trimmed with delicate red lace and finished with a satin ribbon bow at the neckline. Beneath it sits a mid-length red silk slip, also edged in lace, followed by a full-length silk gown featuring a subtle woven floral pattern and lace detailing at the neckline. Each layer can be worn together for dramatic impact or styled separately for more understated elegance.

Designer Background
John Galliano’s time at Dior remains one of fashion’s most theatrically inspired eras. His 2005 collections blended Edwardian references with modern sensuality, creating garments that were both whimsical and technically masterful. This gown reflects Galliano’s ability to tell layered stories—literally and figuratively—through fabric and form.

Condition

Very good vintage condition. Minimal signs of wear, including minor loose threads. All three layers preserved together—a rarity for this piece, as the dresses are often separated over time.
